Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
π Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. This role focuses on enhancing patient independence and quality of life through therapeutic activities.
π Key Responsibilities

Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans

Guide patients through therapeutic activities to improve motor skills and daily functioning

Help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and eating

Monitor and document patient progress and report updates to the Occupational Therapist

Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and home exercise programs

Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas

Ensure patient safety during therapy sessions

Maintain accurate and timely documentation
π Required Qualifications

Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
-
Valid COTA certification and state licensure
-
CPR/BLS Certification (preferred)

1β2+ years of experience in occupational therapy or rehabilitation (preferred)
