The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients improve their ability to perform daily living and work activities. This role focuses on rehabilitation, skill development, and enhancing patient independence.

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment plans
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities
  • Help patients develop skills for daily living (ADLs)
  • Monitor patient progress and report updates to the OT
  • Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and home programs
  • Use adaptive equipment and assistive devices as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Ensure a safe and supportive therapy environment

πŸŽ“ Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Valid COTA certification/license
  • CPR/BLS Certification (preferred)

  • 1–2+ years of experience in occupational therapy or rehabilitation (preferred)
