Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work alongside occupational therapists to help individuals of all ages regain or develop skills necessary for daily living and working. Your primary role will involve providing hands-on therapy to clients under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in developing treatment plans based on clients' individual needs and goals.
2. Implement therapeutic activities and exercises to improve clients' physical and mental well-being.
3. Monitor and document clients' progress during therapy sessions.
4. Collaborate with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
5. Provide education and training to clients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies.
6. Maintain a clean and organized therapy space.
7. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of clients and staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
3. State licensure as a COTA.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
7. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy.
