Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients regain independence and improve their daily living skills. You will assist in creating and implementing treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and monitoring progress to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist in evaluating patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ needs and goals.
3. Conduct therapy sessions to improve mobility, strength, and coordination.
4. Educate patients and their families on exercises and strategies to improve daily living skills.
5. Document patients’ progress and communicate with the therapy team.
6. Collaborate with occupational therapists to modify treatment plans as needed.
7. Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment.
8. Stay up to date on the latest research and techniques in occupational therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Detail-oriented and organized.
7. Compassionate and patient-focused.
8. Experience working with patients of all ages and abilities.
9. Strong problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
