Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist in providing physical therapy services to patients. You will help patients regain physical mobility, alleviate pain, and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Work closely with physical therapists to create and carry out treatment plans for patients.
2. Assist patients with exercises, stretches, and other therapeutic activities.
3. Monitor and document patients' progress during therapy sessions.
4. Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities.
5. Provide hands-on therapy, including massage and manual therapy techniques.
6. Assist in setting up and maintaining therapy equipment.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
8. Help patients with activities of daily living, such as walking and dressing.
9. Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and protocols in the practice of physical therapy.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
2. Certification and licensure as a physical therapy assistant in the state of practice.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
5. Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with therapy exercises.
6. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy principles.
7. Attention to detail and the ability to accurately document patient progress.
8. Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing physical therapy.
